Set Up Your BraapTrax Garage So Every Ride Logs to the Right Bike

Own more than one bike, or just can't remember your last oil change? Here's how to set up the BraapTrax garage so each ride lands on the right machine.

Set Up Your BraapTrax Garage So Every Ride Logs to the Right Bike

Quick: when did you last change the oil on the bike you rode last weekend? If your honest answer is "uh, sometime this summer," you're not alone. Most of us carry service history in our heads, and our heads are busy thinking about the next section of whoops.

The BraapTrax garage exists to fix exactly that. Here's how to set it up once so every ride lands on the right bike and the maintenance side takes care of itself.

What's free and what's Pro

Straight up front: the garage is a Pro feature. The whole tab is behind the BraapTrax Pro subscription, and so is choosing which bike a ride logs to. If you're on the free app, you'll still see the garage, and tapping into it opens the paywall. Nothing forces you to subscribe, and everything else in the free app (GPS ride recording, the post-ride summary, season stats, GPX export, hazard reports) keeps working either way.

If you're curious about the whole split, we laid it out in BraapTrax Free vs Pro.

Step 1: Put your bikes in the garage

Open the Garage tab and add the bikes you actually ride. Not just the race bike you wash every Sunday. The beat-up trail bike, the old 250 you lend to friends, the dual-sport you commute on. If it burns fuel and gets dirty, it belongs here.

Each bike becomes its own record, so the history of one never gets mixed up with another. That matters more than it sounds. A 450 and a trail bike wear out on completely different schedules, and the only way to track that honestly is to keep them separate.

Step 2: Set your service intervals

This is where the garage earns its keep. Set service intervals for the maintenance you do, then let BraapTrax keep the count and send maintenance reminders when something is coming due.

Your owner's manual is the authority on what those intervals should be, and how hard you ride changes the answer. A bike that lives in sand and dust wants its air filter and oil attention sooner than one that sees a few easy loops a month. Set them to match how you ride, not how the brochure assumes you ride.

When you finish a job, log it so the clock resets. Takes a few seconds in the garage, and it's the difference between knowing and guessing.

Step 3: Pick the bike before you ride

On the Ride tab, the Vehicle pill is where you choose which bike the ride logs to. Make it a habit at the trailhead, same as checking tire pressure: pick the bike, hit record, ride.

Why bother? Because the miles and hours from that ride get tied to the bike you were actually on, which is what makes the maintenance side honest. Log everything to the wrong bike and your reminders drift away from reality.

Step 4: Let the reminders do their job

Once the bikes are in and the intervals are set, you mostly stop thinking about it. When something comes due, you get a reminder rather than discovering it with a seized chain or a gritty filter at mile 20.

Gear worth having

A garage log only helps if you actually do the work. A few things that earn their spot on the bench:

Is Pro worth it for this?

If you own more than one bike, or you do your own wrenching, the garage and its reminders are the strongest argument for Pro. Pro is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, and new subscribers get a 1-month free trial, so you can set up your whole garage, ride a few weekends, and see whether the reminders earn their keep before paying anything. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled through the App Store or Google Play.

Grab BraapTrax on the App Store or Google Play, add your bikes, and let the app remember so you don't have to. Then go ride.
